Peptide Actives

Uplevity (INCI:  Acetyl Tetrapeptide-2) - Stimulates collagen and elastin production increasing skin elasticity and firming sagging skin (see results here).

Telangyn (INCI:  Acetyl Tetrapeptide-40) - Fights inflammation and reduces the appearance of redness.  Telangyn was used in a study with 20 volunteers with mild rosacea and was shown to reduce the appearance of redness by over 17% (see results here).

*September 2018:  I have been using several of the lotions (both Shade in a Bottle and REM Time) containing Telangyn for approximately 2.5 years now and have noticed a marked improvement in my skin color.  I had a fairly uneven complexion (my nose especially was prone to redness at the tip (think Rudolph) and discoloration along the bridge, and I had a few distinct broken capillaries in my cheeks).  Within 6 months, I noticed a significant decrease in redness and discoloration on my nose, and now 2.5 years later, I love how even my complexion is when I look in the mirror.  The broken capillaries are still there on my cheeks, but I need to scrutinize to tell because the redness just doesn't jump out at me like it used to.

Syn Hycan (INCI:  Tetradecyl Aminobutyroylvalylaminobutyric Urea Trifluoroacetate (and) Magnesium Chloride) - Syn Hycan promotes skin firmness by increasing hyaluronon production and stimulating production of lumican and decorin, two proteoglycans that provide support to collagen networks.

Relistase (INCI:  Acetylarginyltryptophyl Diphenylglycine) - Reslistase improves skin elasticity by inhibiting elastase activity resulting in firmer skin (see results here).

Preventhelia (INCI:  Diaminopropionoyl Tripeptide-33) - Preventhelia prevents skin damage due to oxidative stress (UV and other environmental stressors)  in in vitro studies.

I have been adding Diaminopropionoyl Tripeptide-33 (Preventhelia) to all lotions/serums I use (whether I make them or buy them) for treating sun exposed skin for years, and the difference in treated and untreated skin is profound.

Of all the peptides, Preventhelia is one of my two favorites (Telangyn is the other one) and is why you'll find it in all of our face lotions and water based serums.

Matrixyl synthe'6 (INCI:  Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38) - Matrixyl synthe'6 contains a matrikine peptide that stimulate synthesis of several extracellular components and components of the dermal-epidermal junction (collagen I, III, IV, hyaluronic acid, laminin-5, and fibronectin).  In a clinical study, after two months of twice daily application, an improvement in wrinkle volume was seen. Look for this peptide in Sarah's Serum, one of our water based serums.

Matrixyl 3000 (INCI:  Palmitoyl Oligopeptide (and) Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7) - Matrixyl 3000 contains two matrikine peptides that stimulate synthesis of extracellular components (collagen I, hyaluronic acid, and fibronectin).  In a clinical study, after 56 days of twice daily application, an improvement in wrinkle depth and volume was seen.   Look for this peptide in Sarah's Serum, one of our water based serums.

Haloxyl (N-hydroxysuccinimide, Chrysin, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7) - This combination of peptides and active ingredients was shown to reduce the appearance of dark circles in one study (see results here).
